    The true favorites...

I've realized that when it comes down to it, there are a select few singles and/or album tracks over the years [one, two, maybe three, from any album] that I will always want and choose to listen to over the others. I guess they are my true favorites.

For example, from Meet the Supremes:
single: Your Heart Belongs To Me
album track: You Bring Back Memories
EE track: The Tears [my favorite Mary lead]

    from WDOLG:
singles: Come See About Me, Where Did Our Love Go
album track: I'm Giving You Your Freedom
EE track: Let Me Hear You Say I Love You

from Bit of Liverpool: You Can't Do That, House of the Rising Sun
    from CWP: Lazybones, Baby Doll
from Sam Cooke: Ain't that Good News [favorite Florence lead], Bring It On Home To Me

    from More Hits:
single: Stop! In the Name of Love
album track: I'm In Love Again
EE track: Nothing But Heartaches [alternate vocal, love the instrumental break]

    from IHAS:
single: My World Is Empty Without You
album track: Everything's Good About You
EE track: Wonderful, Wonderful [alternate version]

    from A Go Go:
    single: You Can't Hurry Love
EE tracks: Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart [The SupreMix], Shake Me Wake Me[duet version with Four Tops]

    from Sing HDH:
single: You Keep Me Hangin' On
album track: Mother You, Smother You [mono version]
EE track: Going Down For The Third Time [extended mix]

I'll do all the albums and just list 1 track that is a fav, always showing up on my playlists and with me constantly hitting Repeat to listen to it again. I'll also try to avoid just listing the hits and go more for the other tracks and only the tracks on the original releases. I could make a whole separate list for bonus tracks, alt versions, EE vault tracks, etc.

Meet The Supremes - You Bring Back Memories

Where Did Our Love Go - Long Gone Lover

A Bit of Liverpool - You Really Got a Hold On Me

Sing Country, Western & Pop - Makes No Difference Now

We Remember Sam Cooke - Ain't That Good News

More Hits - Back in My Arms Again

Live at the Copa - Queen of the House

    Merry Christmas - Silver Bells

I Hear A Symphony - Wonderful, Wonderful tied with Stranger in Paradise

A Go Go - You Can't Hurry Love

Sing HDH - Going Down for the Third Time

Sing R&H - Falling in Love With Love

Reflections - Misery Makes My Heart It's Home

Live at London's Talk of the Town - Millie/Rose/Mame medley

Sing and Perform Funny Girl - Sadie, Sadie

Love Child - How Long Has The Evening Train Been Gone

Join the Temptations - Try It Baby

    TCB - Mrs Robinson

Let the Sunshine In - Discover Me

Together - Why Must We Fall In Love

Cream of the Crop - Beginning of the End

    GIT - Leading Lady medley

    Farewell - Hey Big Spender

    Right On - Loving Country

New Ways But Love Stays - Together We Can Make Such Sweet Music

Magnificent 7 - For Your Love

Touch - Here Comes the Sunrise

Return of the Magnificent 7 - I'm Glad About It

    Dynamite - Melodie

Floy Joy - Now the Bitter

Jimmy Webb - Cheap Lovin tied with 5:30 Plane tied with Once in the Morning

Live in Japan - For Once In My Life/Cabaret/I'll Take You There/Thank You

Supremes 75 - You Can't Stop a Girl in Love

    High Energy - Only You

Mary, Scherrie & Susaye - Sweet Dream Machine

    Great thread Lucky!

Reese your list looks like one of mine, with a few exceptions.

I think I've said this in the forum before, but as a Supreme fan, I'm not all that into a lot of the hit singles. Sure, I play some, and I'll let them all play through in a playlist. But my fandom is really due to those album tracks and previously vaulted material. That's where the group often really shined, IMO.

So when it comes to the hits, the only ones I really ever say "I gotta hear that one right now" and play it often, are: "Where Did Our Love Go", "Back In My Arms Again", "Heartaches", "My World", "Hurry", "Hangin", "Love Is Here", "Reflections", "Gonna Make You Love Me", and "Someday".

Now my absolute favorite album tracks from Meet the Supremes thru Sing R&H: "Time Changes Things", "I'm Giving You Your Freedom", "You Can't Do That", "Makes No Difference Now" and "Funny" and "You Need Me" [[three way tie), "Good News", "I'm In Love Again", "Make Someone Happy", "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Silver Bells" [[tie), "Everything Is Good About You", "Shake Me, Wake Me", "I'll Turn to Stone", "Falling In Love With Love".

Previously unreleased from each album: "Those DJ Shows", "Come On Boy" and "Mr. Blues" [[tie), "I Saw Him Standing There", "Makes No Difference Now" 1963 version, "Good News" extended, "It's All Your Fault", "Oh Holy Night", "All of a Sudden", "Mother Dear 66", "Hangin On" extended alternate version, "There Is a Small Hotel".

So interesting to know all your thoughts on your favorites. It seems that some tracks appear on lists fairly often. [Something about how great minds think...? ]

My first list was from albums by DMF [the Classic Supremes]. The DRATS albums were both harder and easier for me because I find I don't listen to them as much or as often. [Love Child being the exception] Like many here have said, DRATS was a different group, albeit with my favorite lead singer. There are no EE versions of the DRATS albums [yet?].

from Sing Rogers & Hart [the one DMF album not on my previous post]:
There's a Small Hotel, My Romance, Falling In Love With Love

    from Reflections:
    single: Reflections
album cuts: I Can't Make It Alone, Bah Bah Bah

    from Love Child:
    single: Love Child
album cuts: How Long Has That Evening Train Been Gone, Keep An Eye

    from Join/Together w/Temptations:
Try It Baby, Funky Broadway, Why Must We Fall In Love

from Funny Girl: The Music That Makes Me Dance, Funny Girl

    from Let The Sunshine In:
*I don't really have any favorite listens from this album but No Matter What Sign and Living In Shame are sometimes guilty pleasures.

    from Cream of the Crop:
    single: Someday We'll Be Together
album cuts: You gave Me Love, Till Johnny Comes
honorable mention: Loving You Is Better Than Ever.

Yes, a personal playlist of our true favorites is a great idea. I have actually thought of a playlist like this before but never got around to it. My titles would have been Why I Love The Supremes and Why I Love Diana Ross. [I had been thinking about which songs I would choose to explain to casual or non-fan friends my love for anything Motown. But, lol, I'm afraid these lists would be too long and too much ]
