My Ross top ten album songs

    Hard to narrow down.
    So many gems
Never say I don't love you
    My baby my own
    You were the one
    Friend to friend
    Give up
    That's how you start over
    Come in from the rain
    Too many nights
    Carry On
    Love will conguer all

    Fav Ross singles.

    Not over you yet remix
    Ain't no mountain
    Remember me
    Good morning heartache
    Love hangover
    One love in my lifetime
    Getting ready for love
If you're not gonna love me right
    Take me higher
    One shining moment.

This would be a good concert..
    Bubbling under...

    In the ones you love
Thought it took time to fall in love
    Touch me in the morning.
    If the world just danced
    No one gets the prize

I see in the Diana Ross Simply Singing thread that you mention your desire that she record a standards album. I'm not opposed to that, but she's done the old standards- and the type- so much back in the day that I'm not all that excited about it.

I would like to see her do an album or show of jazz and blues arrangements of songs she's already recorded:

    A Breathtaking Guy
    Where Did Our Love Go
    A Simple Thing Like Cry
    Brown Baby
    Love Hangover
    It's My Turn
    Swept Away
    Your Heart Belongs To Me
    All Night Lover
    I Heard a Love Song

I forgot one! I also would love if she recorded or performed a jazz or blues rendition of "I Thought It Took a Little Time".

That’s interesting, as i thought your list a load of old trollocks as well.
I really love Diana doing these slow r&b jams, being how i selected my personal faves.

Forgot to add my very favourite DR performance of all time “God Bless The Child”
For me Diana is the only performer who fully captures the essence of the song, with M’s Holiday running a close second.
It certainly made some of her doubters sit up and take note.

Diana does indeed nail the song, but I heartily disagree [in a spirit of friendly debate] that anyone could ever "capture [its] essence" better than Holiday, who wrote the song herself in a fit of pique after a fight with her mother about money. The song is hers and hers alone, and no one holds a candle to her emotional investment in it.

I know exactly where your coming from as i’m a huge BH fan. My opinion is based solely on interpretation, and despite Billie having written the song, it’s Diana's poignant, almost wistful interpretation that moves me the most. I also feel the same about “Good Morning Heartache”, but that’s where it ends.
