Bubbie is like that. I never dealt with I Fleecem, but he had a junior partner, Urial Lee Suck-Boye, who lost a case for me. He grew upset when he told me to bring his retainer on the first day of the court case and I brought a dental appliance. Being a lawyer, you'd think that could have been more specific if he meant money. He did such a horrible job but still asked me for a tip on top of what I already owed him. So I have him a tip and advised him that he needed another vocation. Again, he should have been specific if he meant money.

The devil is in the detail.

  3. #4903
I don't see why there would have been any confusion in either case. It was perfectly clear to me. I took dental appliances (uppers and lowers) to my very first legal team, brothers Gip and Skip Towne.

Wasn't that the firm run by Algonquin J. Calhoun???

  6. #4906
As far as I know those two characters are from Three Stooges shorts. I. Fleecem is from "Heavenly Daze" (1948) and I. Cheatham from "Three Pests In A Mess" (1945). There is a well known poster of the Three Stooges as Dewey Cheatem & Howe, but it does not relate to any short they did.

I was just making a joke. I don't remember Calhoun having a firm name. I think he was just an independent not-totally-honest lawyer.

Well the yokes on me. I did get the "Amos 'N' Andy" reference, but I didn't know enough about the show to know if Algonquin J. Calhoun had an office or not.

  9. #4909
LOL. I had to Google Algonquin J. Calhoun. Amos and Andy predate me by a few years...

  10. #4910
Here in the UK, the first time I heard of 'Amos 'n' Andy' was the name check in the song 'Bosom Buddies', from 'Mame'.....

  11. #4911
I remember calhoun, and he was a hoot, great show that got caught up in politics.

  12. #4912
    Not unlike the Presidential election.....

  13. #4913
Except that amos n andy was a better show.

  14. #4914
Good Lord. When they make the movie about this election, will it be a comedy or horror story?

  20. #4920
You're wrong. No one's going to write anything here.

  21. #4921
Ok,nobody will, but somebody might hey here we are.

  22. #4922
February's nearly over already. Time really does go faster when you get older.

  23. #4923
Just be happy time is still passing. When it stops, being older was the least of your laments.

  24. #4924
You mean that time hasn't stopped???...yikes!!!

  25. #4925
Time will stop when your president decides having nukes without the ability to use them is a waste of money.

  26. #4926
Yep,he may decide to blow it all up and start over...the only places left standing will be[trump towers and greasy grady's]and when he realizes that grady's is the only eatery left, his hair will turn gray.

YES IT HAS!!! Don't you remember? It stopped when Marvin Smith's Girl said she didn't love him!

  28. #4928
...and then the bee said to the lion..oh are we back on?

  29. #4929
It's a darn good job that time does exist. It's the only thing that stops everything happening allatonce.

  30. #4930
    I seewhatyou didthere.

  31. #4931
You mean that stuff ain't supposed to happen all at once...opps!!!

  32. #4932
You know those songs that the birds chirp in the morning...did they write those???hmmmmm???

  33. #4933
No, they didn't. They're just winging it.

  34. #4934
I don't listen to the birds anymore since I bought the songs on digital. You should look into it. The whole collection is kind of cheep.

  35. #4935
The price didn't matter that much to me. If I couldn't afford to pay there and then, I could buy them on a "higher perches" contract.

  36. #4936
Make sure you get the right collection, then. Some birds are better than others. To be sure, some go out on a limb and are much more taloned than others.

  37. #4937
Word on the street is that[big bird]was gonna front a group[birds of a feather]but when[woodsy owl]got into it with[foghorn leghorn]over who would sing lead all heck broke loose,so he hired[daffy duck]to handle things but woodsy won't speak to him, meanwhile tweety bird is telling folks that he has a contract to be lead singer not to mention heckle and jeckle who only want to sing duets...it's a mess!!!

  38. #4938
I hope they're good. They're all going to have to wing it now that President McNasty cut funding to PBS and the Interior Department.

  39. #4939
Yep another mess, wait til they find out that as a result of that slashing they will have to share the same mic.

  40. #4940
Hey west,is the[deathmarch]a song or what?? You know the gruesome song...dum dum de dum dum de dum de dum de dum!!

  41. #4941
The chimes of Big Ben were due to be silenced for four years during repairs to the Elizabeth Tower in order to protect workers' hearing. Now Members of Parliament including the Prime Minister have asked officials to review the decision.

  42. #4942
Yay! Big Ben is chiming again until it rings in the new year.

  43. #4943
What, silence big ben?? Now way,let him sing!!
