From the Barbara Walters interview, 2000, regarding the RTL tour. She is referring to Mary Wilson...
"She didn't have to pay for anything...all she needed to do was show up."

    3. But it’s not about the people that leave Motown that’s important - but it’s about the people ou come back; and tonight everybody came back.

I like that one... the whole interview was great.

I've basically, in my heart, know that it
would be very hard for me to work with
    her on stage

I can sit down and talk to her but do you
think it's gonna change her feelings, if she's been
harboring this for 30 years… or
    more.

I think she's coming from a lot of pain
and a lot of times when you're unhappy
you have to find someplace to throw that
to you you you you know she's targeting
me and I see such unhappiness in her
coming out of her you know I don't know
that I can change that I don't know that
I could really change how she feels
inside I don't think there would be
anything that anybody could do to make
    her happy

I'm not gonna defend that. I think
the audience knows that that's my voice
on all those songs and it had nothing to
do with my relationship with Barry. I
think he's a wonderful he gave me an
    opportunity to shine

lol @ jobucats and Albator. My favourite line from that RTL 20/20 interview is...

"Well I think she's been working as Mary Wilson and The Supremes and she's been singing my songs! You know, it's not her voice! I've had the solo career for 30 years, I've been singing Supremes songs."

    Followed by...

"From the beginning of the conversation, the first thing she said was, 'What took you so long to call?' and I'm saying it sort of nicer than she did."

    lol

Diana Ross' NYC Central Park Concert quote:
"It's taken me a lifetime to get here, I'm not going anywhere."
Her quote is comparable to the epic quote by the prolific Duke Ellington:
"No matter what accolade anyone may give me, I think more of myself."
An example of Diana Ross' quote, "Think positive, constantly."

That quote seems to encapsulate the true spirit of Diana Ross. Good find.

This one from UK, 1991, is relevant, especially here

"to me it's always a pecking order
sometimes you like to feel bigger about
yourself by putting somebody else down
    and i think that's just a nature and a
    natural thing that people do"

I rather thought the thread about Diana quotes we personally find the most memorable. If there was a theme i apologize for straying.

I like this one, Albator. Was this from a printed interview she did? Or a TV interview?

I favour quotes coming directly from her and not from a Taraborelli book...

    so it's there :

But if I'm after unverified Diva mood quote, I like that one about cancelling the Dancers for her second Cp show

And that one, about Diana :

    "I love Diana, I'm a Diana junkie.
She is the boss of her life I think that's the message she's giving for many years.
It's not that she's the boss of you, she's the boss of herself and that's what it's all about."
