They looked and sounded great. I remember that show from summer of '85. Thanks Luke!
That was fabulous Luke. Not seen that before. So clear too!
This is our history.
So gald you both enjoyed! Smokey looks like hes 29! I just love that thing Mary does with her voice-like a sexy choke!
That was bittersweet, how time flies....thanks.......
nice to see that clip again, two legends in fine voice!
Mary and Smokey together is Soul Heaven for me. There was no finer interpreter of Smokey's songs than Mary.
Wow, forgot that I wrote that patter, arranged that medley and I'm sitting on the floor [[Smokey's side) with my long 80's hair.
What a great time!
where was "My Heart is like a Clock"?????
You go George- great job!
George
Don't complain, there's loads of us who would do anything for a head of hair like that!
who was the line-up on this special? and wasn't this a period when Smokey was going through some rough times that he wrote about in his book? or maybe a little later. he was too thin.
The guests on this particular episode were Mary, Diana Ross, the Mary Jane Girls, and Weird Al Yankovic. I believe Smokey wrote this was around the period when he became seriously addicted.
The vocals are great!
Although it's usually the man that compliments the female's looks!
That can't be George.
No one was ever that young!
Incomparable.
