Motown UK / European Trip 1963

BG + other Motown big wigs came to the UK & then Europe in March 1963 to sort out the future of the label's product here [[+ a publishing deal).
At the time their stuff was released in the UK by Oriole -- but Oriole would soon be taken over by CBS;1964).
The last Motown release on Oriole escaped in November 63.
Seems they held deal talks with Decca [[who had released Motown stuff in 61) and with EMI.
No doubt new European country deals also followed on from the visit, but the outcome in the UK was a deal with EMI.
I wonder how different things would have gone if they'd done the deal with Decca instead.

As Decca turned down the Beatles, maybe not so good.
