    I posted it because he worked on Thank You and presuming the same Fred White that wrote and co-produced the title track of I Love You.

    Afraid so. The Fred White who worked on Ross' last two albums is her background singer and collaborator, who's alive and well [AFAIK], not known to be a drummer, and definitely not the person pictured. Looks like someone at Billboard didn't do their vetting thoroughly.

    ETA: I've just emailed the author to let him know.

    My heart sank when I read this headline, as my mind immediately went to thinking that this was Diana's Fred White, but it is indeed an error made by the author of the article. Regardless, RIP to Fred White of EW&F.
