    RIP Angela Lansbury

I have not seen the news myself anywhere but a trusted source tells me she died today at the ripe old age of 96. Definitely one of our greatest ever.

Star of stage and screen [big and small] Angela Lansbury had a long and distinguished career. Two of my all-time favorite movies "The Picture of Dorian Gray" [1945], and "The Manchurian Candidate" [1962] are two of her three Oscar nominated roles. She passed five days shy of her 97th birthday. Rest In Peace.

I had the pleasure of seeing the very talented Dame Angela Lansbury in "Sweeney Todd" on Broadway in 1979. She left her mark over a long, long illustrious career.

Her grandfather George Lansbury was leader of the UK Labour Party during the 1930s.
