    I adore Nancy and just about everything she ever did, but those background singers on The End of Our Love are more annoying than anything. Not one of her better songs....

    That's a good selection, Jack - Nancy's 'Come Get To This' lp was a favorite [[I had it on 8-track) and she does, indeed go a great job on Stevie's 'All In Love ...'. Wilson was a tremendously versatile vocalist in terms of the variety of material she could interpret, and when she chose she could chew scenery from a mile away!

    I'm a big fan of Nancy Wilson and generally feel she can sing anything. But I think her version of "I've Never Been to Me" lacks focus. It kind of meanders, and her voice seems awfully weak for some reason. Unlike her usual style, her way of singing doesn't seem suited to this song. I think it lacks the poignancy and immediacy of Charlene's version which, while people seem to either love it or hate it, I've always loved the song.

    Kenneth we're going to disagree this round on this one. I'm most impressed with Nancy's version, I find her vocal quite focused.

    Love the strings .
    For the first time I'm noticing a bit of "Mavis" in Nancy's delivery.
    [Just listened again and I find her version exquisite.] Shoulda/Coulda been a hit in its own right.

    Added: I see it was released as a single in 1977.....#47 R&B

    Nancy/ the label must have believed in it ...the album it's from is titled after it !!!

    @Boogie,

    I agree, there is something of Mavis in Wilson's delivery. You're right.

    I'll listen to the song again. I know I was very excited to hear that she recorded the song, but for some reason it didn't click with me the first time.

    She is an amazing vocalist, so understated but with so much feeling.

    And don't worry, you're allowed to disagree with me [[sometimes!).

    hmmm is the provided above version “modernized”?

    that intro has a TIME OF MY LIFE era sound about it …

    added:
    that does appear to be the original version, to add gravy : arranged by Gene Page
