Oh my. What sad news. What a multi-talented singer who never really achieved the success that she deserved in my humble opinion. Also we should remember that her brother was King Records recording artist Little Willie John who also had a fantastic voice but died young while incarcerated.

God bless Miss Mable. You gave us so much joy.

Rest in Peace, Mable John. I saw her LIVE in Sept. 1966 on the Joe Tex/Mary Wells Show at the Orlando Municipal Auditorium. "Your Good Thing" was her hit. I loved her Stax Records recordings and her lead on the Raelets hit "Bad Water".

Sorry to hear this news. I loved her singing. I started buying her Tamla records in 1960, and continued with her stay records during the mid to-late 1960s. Now, unfortunately, both she and one of my favourite singers, Little Willie, are gone. Lots of great memories.

What a shock! I was just watching my "20 Feet From Stardom" DVD last night. Mable was among the featured artists, and I was thinking how great she still looks after all these years. Now, as I write this, I'm finally getting around to playing my "Stax Singles [[Vol. 4)" CD box set which I bought upon its release back in 2017. I just realized that Mable John is on discs 1 & 2. May God rest her soul.

A question on Mable Johns My Name Is Mable: The Complete Collection. I have in my collection Tamla/Motown CD same title, etc. with release #980-846-1. The Tamla/Motown emblem is on the cover on top of MABLE JOHN.

I recently came across a photo which seems to be a US Tamla release. It clearly says Tamla [only] across the top. However, I cannot find any record of it being released by Tamla.

Does anyone have any thoughts on it? Or is it a spoof?

Rest in Power with the Lord dear Dr Mable John. I truly believe that when someone dies, an angel is there to meet them at the gates of Heaven to let them know that their life has just begun. May you be with your angel Dr Mable John.
