Lyrics at the end of "Seven Rooms of Gloom"...

What are the words being sung by the background vocals at the very end of "Seven Rooms of Gloom" as the song is fading out? I am hearing 6 syllables, none of which I can decipher. Thanks

Sounds more like, "Come back, you have to come back" to me.

    I'm getting…

    Come back
    You have to come back
    Why don’t you come back

WOW, Tom! I'm feeling validation. That's EXACTLY what I always thought they were singing.

There’s something about this song that stands out to me, and that’s in terms of the Tops' catalogue and Motown more generally. I’m not sure what exactly it is, but maybe it’s because it’s quite a dark, eerie song, set to one of Motown's most frantic, relentless rhythm tracks. The backing vocals in particular seem, to me, unlike any other Andantes performance. There’s just something about it!!!

Also, and perhaps this is related, I’ve read that the Tops hated the song, and never performed it live. Anyone know if this true?
