Motown Advertising responsibility during the Golden Era

Something I thought about recently. During the Golden Era of Motown there were advertisements in trade magazines constantly promoting their new releases.

Does anyone know of any specific names of employees who were responsible for creating and placing advertisements such as this? I do not recall ever hearing of any. There was so much advertising then it makes me wonder why they have never been recognized.

Was there a special unit that handled these responsibilities?

    Any thoughts or knowledge? Thanks.

This isn’t answering your question Woodward, but yes Motown made it an ongoing practice to regularly promote their product in ads. In reviewing old billboards I’m amazed at how many acts , specific releases , [not from Motown] that were not pushed this way. I wonder what a page of ad cost ?

good inquiry , hopefully someone can shed light. Who designed each ad for instance…
