For no real reason, I clicked the Go Advanced tag and pasted it into the text box. Once I did that, it was easy peasy.

Figured today's puzzle out after accounting for all of the vowels and applying the underappreciated art of deduction to figure out the rest. Only one word could possibly fit.

I use my phone to play the game. I haven’t tried it on any other device. Not that brave, yet!

To post my results I click “share” then scroll down to “copy” then I “paste” to this thread.

To play the game I always start with the word “ounce” because it has 3 vowels. If none of those vowels are in play I then use the word “trail”. That covers all 5 vowels and 5 consonants. I’m looking forward to the day when “ounce” is the wordle of the day! lolol

Lately, I've been starting with the word "grace". I just play off of the results after that. I got a little lucky on my third guess today, when the final three letters fell into place. After eliminating and confirming vowels, there was really only one word left to guess.

For some reason, if I just paste the results in SDF, I get an odd assortment of black & white diamonds instead of the colored results.

Fortunately, several users were able to explain the discrepancy, which they’ve chalked up to the fact that there are two different iterations of Wordle.

“Wordle game 241 was actually two different games, depending on which version of the site you’re using,” Caitlin Welsh, a Wordle enthusiast and editor for Mashable Australia, explained.
As such, stragglers playing the game on the original Powerlanguage page got a different word than those using the NY Times site.

The Times explained in a tweet that they’d removed the original word for being too obscure, writing: “We are updating the word list over time to remove obscure words to keep the puzzle accessible to more people, as well as insensitive or offensive words,” Cohen said in an email. “***** is an example of an obscure word.”

However, while the Times might not have been at fault in this instance, the publication was previously accused of ruining Wordle by making it “too hard.” Despite the criticism, the rag claims that “nothing has changed about the gameplay” since the takeover.

In addition, Wordle was allegedly hacked following the acquisition, with the code-cracker reportedly divulging the game’s algorithm and posting spoilers for nearly 120 upcoming words. The tech expert who tweeted his findings may have been onto something: So far, as of Monday, Feb. 14, the answer reveals have been correct.

Personally, I don't mind if it's getting tougher. It's an exercise in deduction and I get more satisfaction after figuring out difficult words than those I crack in 2 or 3 tries. I used G-R-A-C-E as my opening word all last week and was lucky to have one letter correct [[never a green one, BTW). I used 5 or 6 guesses four times. I'm okay with it being tougher. It's still the same game.

I guessed it with only a green and a yellow letter today after scratching my head for five minutes.

I did it in about the same amount of time although I forgot to use one of my yellow letters. I can’t tell if it’s getting harder because I’ve done all the archived games over the past few weeks. I’ll probably pay closer attention now that I’m doing only one a day - unless I start the 6 letter game.

I very nearly lost today. I had three guesses [for one remaining letter] and there were FIVE possible answers. Of course, I got the first two wrong and was extremely lucky to get the third and final one correct. I'm pretty sure that's why this particular word was chosen.

I tap “Share” and then at the bottom of my screen it says “Copy” and then I go to SD and “Paste”. I only use my phone for Wordle. Have no clue as to how to do it with other devices. I know when I look at this thread on my Kindle or computer the solutions don’t have the yellow or green colors.

Phooey. Not thrilled with some of the wordle choices. Takes the fun out
for folks when they use words not used in common parlance. Mentally challenging
for my wee brain -- especially early in the morning. Must remember that the game
was developed in Great Britain. I understand the New York Times intends to take
out esoteric words. We´ll see ....

I´ve seen all kinds of tips for playing Wordle. Many feel that using a first word with three vowels is a head start. I´ve tried all sorts of strategies, including one vowel in the first word. Consonants matter, too. I, too, have been playing the archives when I can cope.
Good exercise. I especially dislike double and even triple use of a letter, but it´s all in the game. [Hey, that´s a good song title. Tommy Edwards, Johnny Mathis, et al]
I have also looked up answers, when I just surrender.

Today's word was a killer. Shame on them for using it. Not even a word that's in infrequent use in English speaking countries. I had the first two letters and the fifth and wound up Googling the first two letters to see the Google results and clearly, I wasn't the only one because the first result was the answer.

Yes, the other day's solution was a challenge. I am getting confused from day-to-day. But that's my fault. I spent the past few weeks doing all 250+ archive words for practice. So I think I started to get bored.

I now do the daily 5-word and then 6-word puzzles. I play the Word Grid game once each day. I tried the Word Race game but it's too intense for me. I just want lazy fun.

I got hooked on this too in France and I was able to commence the new one an hour before my fellow Brits. :-)

I used to start off with OPERA because it had 3 vowels but I have since changed it to ADIEU and if I get no letters, I then go with STORM. My average is 4/6.

I don't know if they're harder or not. But I'm having to examine all sorts of combinations to figure things out. Every puzzles taking at least 10 minutes now, when I used to solve some within 2-3 minutes before.
