"Somewhere" by The Dynamics should read as by The Dramatics. It was a misprint on the Wingate Records label.

"Daddy Please" by The Velvelettes should be listed as "Mama Please" [[the version they recorded), despite "Daddy Please" being the original name of the song published.

There are several records I have, or have scans and sound files of, which were originally published by Myto Music, that are not on this list [[probably because their rights weren't renewed by either Wingate or Motown).

    Thanks for the updates Robb

This is a list I compiled as I could see no other Myto Music list anywhere else on the net and thought others may find it useful...!

Thanks for researching this and publishing it. The Golden World, Ric Tic, Wingate and associated record labels of Eddie Wingate rarely get much coverage on this forum. This will be helpful. Hopefully it will generate more interest in the labels.

Great cross reference points for a lot of stuff I use to identify and locate on youtube
material I've known as early work of George Clinton and his associates. Also Fantastic Four
and Dramatic releases I previously didn't own. Bonus mentions of the Sonny Stitt stuff of
which I was completely unaware. Thanks, Grape!..

Thanks for posting this list. I've not heard or listened to most of the songs on this list. Hopefully they will turn up on my music streaming service.

The Jimmy Randazzo 45 on Win Gate was never released as far as I know ... even though it was advertised in a big music mag ad in October 65 ...
were the tapes for this track ever found ?

There is a Myto Music Catalogue in much the same way as a Jobete Music catalogue which lists most of those not covered here.

So this throws me a little perhaps somebody can fill me in - who was Jimmy Randazzo? Was his single going to be a vocal as in I Love The Life I Lead? Or was it an instrumental as in Hungry for Love a la San Remo or was it a totally new lyric to Hungry. Ric Tic Golden World had this habit of retitling tracks when they realeased them as instrumentals which throws me a lot of the time.

Paul I know how you feel, I spent years looking for a Demo or Acetate for Jimmy Randazzo [JR], it was never issued. "Wingate 009" listed "Hungry For Love" for JR, but there was no B-side planned or the A side issue.?

I had hoped that Al Kents Bio "Custodians of the Humingbird" would include JR and a mention? but no luck as every other one in the music business of that era you could only think of it listed in his book, in great detail, but No JR included & no clues.

Can't understand it's listed twice as an advertisment, and then there's a 3rd one? Barbara Mercer's B side "Hungry For Love" Inst, the B side "Golden World 28" Sep't 65. Makes you wonder should they have listed Barbara Mercers 45?

    Maybe one day!

I had always heard that The Jimmy Randazzo recording was an instrumental [[no vocal). Apparently, someone had access to the master tapes or an acetate. Ron Murphy, who ended up buying the remaining record stock from Ed Wingate's offices after the last Motown buyout, told me that it was, indeed, an instrumental. The record probably wasn't pressed up, even on press run demos, otherwise murphy would have had it on his list, OR, more likely, would have sold it off when he released his sales list, near the beginning of the 1970s. He might have offered it to me for one of the first shots at purchasing it.
I had heard, back then, that Jimmy was Teddy Randazzo's son or nephew.

Thank you Robb for this detailed explanation - it was always difficult for me as they [[RT and GW) tended to change the titles of the tracks when they released them as San Remo tunes. So was never sure if this 'unheard' version was going to be a vocal or not. It made sense that it would be not a vocal but then sense was never always a given.

To the best of my knowledge Teddy Randazzo had 7 children ... not all by his last wife; Shelly.
His sons were named Alika, Joshua, Giovanni and Teddy Jr. and his daughters Skye, Dominique and Elisa Rose [[Schwartz).
Teddy Jnr was the oldest, while Elisa Rose became a recording artist [[her mother was Victoria Pike -- girlfriend & song writing collaborator with Teddy). Teddy's 1st wife was also called Victoria [[different woman to Elisa Rose's mother I think).
Jimmy could have been his nephew though. One of his bios states he was from a musical family but goes no farther. I have no info on how many brothers / sisters he had.

I seem to remember reading that in an article about an old interview, that "Myto" stood for "My Tony". That was the name of JoAnne Bratton [[Wingate's) first son, she had with her first husband, US Welterweight Champion boxer, Johnny [[Honey Boy) Bratton. Ric-Tic was named after her second son, Ricky.
