The original album was scheduled for as“It’s So Hard Being A Loser” on Gordy G-921, in February 1967; but was shelved and the number used for the first live album by the Temptations.

Love that cover! But by February 1967 hadn't Dennis Edwards replaced Joe Stubbs? Great pic by the way, I've never seen it before.
I believe the pic is from 1966, and it was the nearest one I could find.

You can find proposed artwork for that album somewhere in the SDF archives. If you have old editions of "Yesterday-Today -Forever", it's also in there. It does show Dennis Edwards.
I've seen that artwork...and even touched it! LOL
Any chance of posting it here?
I'd love to see it.
ME! Post a picture! Eeek!
When I scan anything, the number of bytes for the scan exceeds the size limit for this site. I have to leave that kind of stuff to Grape, he's so much better at it than me.
You resize it John. Ha, you learn like me ~ I found that almost impossible.
But a friend downloaded a picture resizer for me ~ maybe I can send it to you outside the forum. I'll try.
If you email me the scan, I'll resize it in Photoshop, and email it back to you, so you can post it on here. When I scan anything, the number of bytes for the scan exceeds the size limit for this site. I have to leave that kind of stuff to Grape, he's so much better at it than me.

I am in France at present but when I get back [[Iceland volcano permitting) I will scan it and send it to you and then you can post it, if you want. We're all here to help each other out.
Rob...can you suggest some wording for SD to use for his mock album covers, we dont want him getting into trouble, do we?
This is the unissued last concert, that was broadcast on capitol; I've dressed it up as a never used Tamla Motown album.

Great job, Stone Diamond. I always look forward to your work!
Seeing all the new tracks on the Monitors CD, got me to thinking what would the cover look like if Tamla Motown had released a second album by them . . .
"Cry" should have been The Monitors' [[or Majestics') FIRST album!
Weren't there a few months when both Joe Stubbs AND Dennis Edwards were on The Contours?
GREAT job, Stone Diamond. I would love to see a mock-up of a proposed Patrice Holloway Motown LP now that we have the anthology. [[hint - smile)

That might have been for the Temptations "A Tear from A Woman's Eyes"
*smile*
That's a good idea, I'll work on it.GREAT job, Stone Diamond. I would love to see a mock-up of a proposed Patrice Holloway Motown LP now that we have the anthology
I've had to colourise the B&W pic in the booklet, so apologies if I've got the tone wrong.
How do I get rib of the bottom pic?
Another WONDERFUL job, Stone Diamond! You should have worked for Motown! Congrats! [[...and thanks!!!)
I reckon Stone could have designed a better cover for Brenda's Artistry album. There are some real good Motown album covers though - I like all the 16 Big Hits series but what would have been on Volume 12?
Well here's my version
Stunning on the Holloway sisters! Nice job.
I love the way you always use the "Tamla Motown" logo
This is my version of the unissued Motown M-612, Mary Wells "Second Time Around". I've used a shot of her standing in Tottenham Court Road, near the old cinema.
Stone Diamond- Nice work! That mock up is beautiful.
It takes out all the fun when those "Mock up" advisories are put on the covers.
Well I'd drop them, but I don't want to get this site into any legal trouble, if someone objected to them without a warning. It takes out all the fun when those "Mock up" advisories are put on the covers.
I thought there was a mock-up of The Supremes "Pure Gold" on this page? Am I wrong?
I no longer post my mock cover designs due to the fact that people would steal them and try to sell them on eBay as covers for homemade CD's. I realized once I put my art online that anyone can take it, so I decided it was best not to post them anymore. If I do want to share them, I share them with those who I know won't try to pass them off as something else...
Well, i'm safe because I don't do ebay. In fact, I help manage a site that hosts cleaned up record labels and album covers.

I'm only doing this one time because I think many would enjoy this...
My design of a dream album I wish happened...
I like that
Dusty and Motown? Ah, if only......Faaab Cover art. Many Thanks.Paulo xxx
Brad, you are the one person who I think comes the closest to capturing that feel of classic Motown album covers. Another great job! Thanks for sharing it here!
