YOU as by Marvin Gaye , Three Dog Night , Rare Earth

YOU by Marvin Gaye , Three Dog Night , Rare Earth.

    very different approaches:

Marvin is backed by Gladys Knight & The Pips. Recorded just after GRAPEVINE

I enjoy Marvin's version, but am also very fond of Rare Earth's.

I love Marvin's version, and just listened to Rare Earth's cover for the first time, and it’s great!!

I will check out Three Dog Night.

Interesting take but not as good as Marvin or Rare Earth. I don’t, however, know much about Three Dog Night otherwise.

I never really appreciated the song until I heard Syreeta's version.

Syreeta makes anything sound good but my nod goes to Marvin. I never understood why this song didn't put him back into the top ten.

I think that is the Originals backing Marvin on this and on Chained.

Marvin of course by a country mile! Here's another version by Judy Tzuke. It was actually a single that peaked at #92 in the UK in 1984!

It also includes a couple of bad edits if you listen closely.
