    Copy protected CDs

I am selling some CDs on Discogs as mentioned on here before. When I sell one that I liked and might have ordinarily preferred to keep, I make a copy of it of course. Meaning I sell the original with artwork, booklet, etc. and just keep a bare naked CD for myself so that I still have the music.

But lately I have come across a few CDs in my collection that have a little circle on the front that say Copy Protected. So does this mean that they literally cannot be copied...meaning it is just not possible to make a copy of them?

Or does it mean simply that you cannot profit in any way by making copies of them? I cannot imagine owning a CD and being morally or legally forbidden from making a copy of it for your own enjoyment.

    Thoughts????
