Damn. Dee Tee was a beautiful brother, smooth, so talented and someone I've looked up
to for most of my life. Just as he so gracefully remembered John Coltrane I'll remember
    Dennis Thomas. RIP....

I’m hearing his unforgettable solo on “Too Hot” in my head as I type this. I had the great good fortune to see him live with the group in the early ‘80s—great show, good times. Rest easy and thanks for the music.

I hear 'ya! I'm hearing his opening monologue to Kool & The Gang's classic "Who's Gonna Take The Weight" in my head [along with all the other landmarks in their career]. Had the pleasure of seeing Kool & Co. live three years ago and had a Blast! Also, "DT"'s passing comes less than a year after the death of Khalis Bayyan [Ronnie Bell]. RIP Dennis Thomas & my condolences to his Family, Friends & Bandmates.

Wow, never knew that was his monologue. Nuggets like this are why I treasure this forum.

I saw Kool etc years back when JT Taylor was still in the group. What a show, with Dennis giving it his all front of stage [[as did all the other brass players, Michael Ray, Clifford Adams etc)
In the last few years I've always looked for Kool live shows on YouTube, and noticed Dennis was missing for a quite a few of them, only to reappear in later shows.
    A sad loss...
