Someday We'll Be Together Alternate Vocal

Listening to the version on Lost and Found.. johnny Bristol's vocal ad libs are the same as the released version..am I correct in thinking they are included on the backing vocal track Diana is singing to ? For years it's been stated that Bristol was coaxing a performance from Ross in the studio how can that be if they are the same riffs as on the alternate vocal? Another Motown myth ?

Always sounded a bit rehearsed to me but I like how it sounds. Maybe before they even recorded anything he was coaxing her and they liked it so they added it but by then it was rehearsed and planned.

The story I read had Johnny was coaxing her a bit and Berry Gordy liking it and telling them to start over and give Johnny a mike. Considering the same adlibs are on both versions, Johnny probably only coaxed her once and then they went back and added the opening hums where they sang together.
