Motown museum exhibit honors marvin gaye

This Friday, 5/6/11, a new exhibit opens at the Motown Historical Museum in Detroit titled [B]"Marvin Gaye: The Motown Years 1960-1982," [B], a display of music, art, artifacts, and memorabilia related to the label's most enduring star. Gaye came to Detroit in 1959-60 with Harvey Fuqua as one of the Moonglows, started as a session drummer at Motown and became a vocal artist a few years later, with hits like "Hitchhike" and "I'll Be Doggone." He recorded some of Motown's most popular songs, including "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," and his 1971 masterpiece, "What's Going On." The Gaye exhibit will run through September 30.
