Diana Ross' ambition to become a star, just got bigger as her hair, as per the Johnny Mathis quote about her stardom.
Before the internet show business handlers created media stars, Diana Ross did it the old fashioned way, steadfast ambition, personal control of her own business and creative goals and a focused work schedule. I believe she modeled some of her career on Joan Crawford- a la the glamorous George Hurrells photographs.
I observed, in awe, Diana Ross in rehearsal for a casino showroom concert - she almost performed the entire show with the musicians.
The RTL Tour Concert was inspiring to attend because of the attention to the musicianship within all the great songs by everyone.
