    The Supremes "My Imagination"

I've really been digging on this lately. One of those odd things where the song isn't really anything to write home about and yet there is just something really enjoyable about it. I like its very bluesy setting- the pace/tempo also gives Diana quite a bit of room to stretch out those notes and luxuriate on the delivery. Most of all, it's the backing vocals that fascinate me; the use of that rather ominous-sounding male group providing some ghostly backing and very beefy "AHHHHHHS". Near the end, The Sups and the guys just seem to go for it and sing the living hell out of their respective parts with as much power as they could. I just about lose it at this point, hearing these two factions singing as if this was the last thing they'd ever do.
