Swap Non Motown A GoGo Cuts w/ Motown Cuts

He did however redeem himself by putting his own "Money" in the track listing. Cha-ching!
Playing producer, if you could have the girls cover any two Motown cuts, fit for A Go Go, to replace the two non Motown cuts Mary mentions above, what might they be? You can also choose among any shelved Motown covers recorded in time for the album.

I think I'd go with "Nowhere To Run" with Flo on lead and "Too Many Fish In the Sea" with Diana. I also think a more uptempo "How Sweet It Is" might have been interesting. Probably 4 Tops overkill, but the group doing "Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever" would've been nice too.

the four tops "Reach Out I'll Be There" in its original tempo would have been fun for them

there's enough motown out takes such as Heatwave,,,Same Old Song , uptight, In My Lonely room, Can I Get a witness, going to a go go,.
plus they did Do You Love Me and You Really Got A Hold On Me from LIVERPOOL to suffice.
but to me, its the lack of the Funk Brothers on some tracks that bring the lp down.
any of the other songs would have worked. never been a fan reqlly of Boots ,sloopy or Money .

ps my playlist has Go Go and Sing HDH as one lp minus filler , the left over went to my new version of Reflections as side 2 is kind of disapointing

Mary singing "Heaven Must Have Sent You" [[even though The Elgins single was released about the same time as A' Go-Go) or "He Was Really Sayin' Something".

Florence singing "Function At The Junction", "Love's Gone Bad", or "Take Me In Your Arms [[Rick Me A Little While)".

I like the idea of the girls singing "Too Many Fish In The Sea".

I would have to agree with that....although, I think A Go Go has a lot more filler than HDH...other than HEATWAVE, I love that LP...esp the Mono version. I love the deep droning blues of Always In My Heart and Remove This Doubt...I've combined the better non hit More Hits tracks with tracks from A Go Go/HDH in the past, and He's All I Got and Everythings Good About You for an early go very light on the hits comp.

i actually redid A Go Go and HDH to better align the material.

    Itching
    This old heart
    you can't hurry love
    Mother Dear [[version 3)
    In My lonely room
    just a little misunderstanding

    Going down 3rd time
    shake me
    get ready
    don't let true love die
    money
    there's no stopping us

then my alt Sing HDH becomes:

    mickey's monkey
    love is here
    mother you
    put yourself in my place
    i'll turn to stone

    love makes me do foolish
    it's the same old song
    can i get a witness
    remove this doubt
    come and get these memories
heatwave [[version 1 - the unreleased version we got on A Go Go EE)

I've always been a fan of the Supremes version of "Heaven Must Have Sent You". If I remember correctly, this was recorded with Cindy [[or the Andantes?) so it would have been to late for "A Go Go". But I think it would have made a nice inclusion.

"Too Many Fish" is a cute idea with Mary and Flo contributing to the "spoken" lines. Would have been a nice nod to Flo for her time as a Marvelette.
