    I wish i could disagree with you on this one but the evidence is there for everyone to see. Sadly Mary lacked the star quality and charisma of Diana to carry it off and the rest as they say is History.

    And that is a great pity because Scherrie was quite wonderful when she was given the opportunity to shine.

    agreed. if they're really positioned Scherrie as the primary lead singer, i think motown would have offered at least a little more support and the songs would have done better.

    IMO part of the problems in the Jean era emerged in 72 and later when music had shifted. the glitz and glitter of the Supremes was out of place with the earthier sounds and looks.

    but with disco, glitz and glamour was back full force. so the look and image of the group had a potential to reconnect
