    Options for Promises Kept

was doing housework this weekend and i queued up on my playlists my alt versions of Right On, NW, Touch and Promises Kept. there are some strong vaulted tracks from PK but also some pretty bland stuff too.

two songs that stand out IMO are Oh My Poor Baby and I'll Have To Let Him Know. Both are written and produced by Pam Sawyer and Gloria Jones. Pam had been writing and producing hits for years and had contributed a lot to the Frank Wilson Sup work.

In some other threads we've discussed potential outside producers like Carole King. but damn - Pam was inhouse and doing marvelous work. and with feminist ideals and songs becoming popular, what an interesting and potentially exciting combo

does anyone know what else Pam and Gloria were producing in mid/late 71?

They wrote a lot of Gladys Knight and the Pips material like IF I WERE YOUR WOMAN, as well as many album tracks.

"Earthquake" for Martha Reeves and the Vandellas (1970)

They also did quite a bit with The Sisters Love, but later in 1972/1973.

Nothing else they produced around the time of PK would have been suitable for the release.
