Ultra Hi Def ReMaster of Ross & Gaye

  2. #2
If you're not listening to this with a proper stereo setup, then chances are that most people wouldn't hear much of a difference at all. It sounds like more of a marketing partnership/gimmick, than anything else, as they're announcing this in partnership with some sort of new HD Alexa audio speaker from Amazon. I can't imagine anything sounding very high def out of a small bluetooth speaker. Would be curious to hear this new master though and whether any compression has been used at all? Hard to beat the original masters on the original vinyl. But hey, at least there's still interest in Motown and they're trying to bring it to new platforms in new ways. I'll be here waiting for the remaining Expanded Editions that we've been asking for, on CD.

This sounds interesting as I have always felt that Diana & Marvin sounded lacking in dynamics, with some aspects of the recordings sounding slightly muffled.

What's Going On should be a contender for this process too I think given its recent accolade.
