    RIP Mac Davis

I heard the news this morning that singer/songwriter Mac Davis has died at the age of 78. Coincidentally within 24 hours of Helen Reddy who was the same age. Two great ones from the 70s.

Yes, David, Mac and Helen both had their well-deserved time in the spotlight. I look forward to the the Helen Reddy movie. You be well!

Wow. Anybody who listened to AM radio back then knew who Mac Davis and Helen Reddy were and it's truly sad that they both passed in the same week. They kind of held up country music during the confused era in the '70s when it was more crossover pop than rustic. Sadly, I hadn't heard anything from either of them for years but they both stood tall in their heyday. Rest in music.

He wrote so many famous songs including several for Elvis Presley such as “in the ghetto“ and “a little less conversation.“

But could anyone who saw this ever forget this performance of his most signature tune?
