    J. Marvin Brown, lead singer of the Softtones has passed!

The Softones were never household names, but achieved a sizable cult following over the years. Their lead singer, J. Marvin Brown had a falsetto worthy of Eddie Kendricks himself. Sadly there’s no details of his passing at this time.

The Softones were a household name on the east coast. Marvin Brwon had one of the best voices that ever recorded for Avco Records.

Marvin was a friend and a fellow tenor. One of the smoothest voices I ever heard.

    Rest in peace Marvin.
