    Carl Reiner, 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' creator and star, dies at 98

    Producer, director and actor Carl Reiner -- best known for creating and starring in "The Dick Van Dyke Show" -- has died. He was 98.

    Reiner, one of the most prolific entertainers in history, died of natural causes on Monday night at his home in Beverly Hills, according to Variety.

    Oh, this is sad. And a day after Mel Brooks' 94th birthday. Carl Reiner was a great man on many fronts and one of the last of a generation of great Great GREAT comedians. I'm praying for his family to realize that 98 years of a life well lived gave them more joy than the sorrow of his passing can ever cause. But still, this is a sad season for them. Rest in humor, Carl.
