Diana Ross - "The Long and Winding Road"

A second Beatles cover from Diana's second solo album. In the booklet to the expanded edition Deke Richards [[who produced the track) advises that for a brief time he considered withholding this and Come Together as a 'Diana Sings the Beatles' lp but Gordy wanted the Everything Is Everything released before that could be realized.

Diana Sings The Beatles that early in her solo career. It's like A Bit Of Liverpool following WDOLG. That wasn't a stellar release. These versions of Come Together and Long & Winding Road also don't sound well thought-out. I did like the 1982 Revelations mix of Come Together. That might have gotten better attention in 1970.

And A Little Bit of Liverpool was a huge seller despite not being stellar.
