I'm sure we all know by now that I LOVE the voice of Florence Ballard. I'm also a huge Linda Jones fan. That lady might be the most passionate female singer I've ever heard. Years ago I was excited when I discovered that Linda recorded a version of my favorite Florence solo cut. Not surprisingly, Linda turns out a characteristically passionate performance, however I prefer Flo's more laid back vocal approach to the subject matter, so Flo's version maintains the favored position for my personal taste. Anyway, here's Linda, obviously produced by George Kerr. And the background singers do a beautiful job as well. [[As did the ladies on Flo's version, if they are different sets of women.)

I first got with Linda on "Hypnotized", which I had on a compilation cassette in high school. I was wild about that song. I didn't get a chance to get into any of the rest of her catalog until around 2003 when an older dude selling bootleg cds [[yes, I used to buy them) turned me on to Linda's greatest hits. I've been collecting Linda ever since.
