Diana Ross’ ‘Love Hangover 2020’ Leaps Higher On Billboard Dance’s Top 10

Diana Ross’ ‘Love Hangover 2020’ Leaps Higher On Billboard Dance’s Top 10

    March 2, 2020

Following her previous #1* charting efforts, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough 2017,” “I’m Coming Out / Upside Down 2018,” and “The Boss 2019,” Diana Ross‘ newest release “Love Hangover 2020” has leapt from #9* to #6*, thus solidifying its placement within the Top 10 of the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.

After over 40 years in existence, the Motown/Universal Music-released track has been upgraded for modern dance floor audiences by none other than frequent Ross collaborator and Club Culture elite DJ/producer Eric Kupper, who has created a classy but timeless take on the original. Listen to the original below.

Also coming in with fresh remixes is Ralphi Rosario, who has provided his own renditions of Kupper’s update, further adding to the suite of new editions that fans both young and traditional may choose from. Stay tuned for more chart progress updates on this song!

Great, sadly most dance clubs are closed. I hope the next Remus is Surrender.

Congratulations Diana. Surely a new remix album would make sense now.

With the new album and tour delayed until next year that would be a good idea.

If not a brand new album or remix project, an expanded "Take Me Higher" would help to heal the pain lol.
The success of these single remixes proves there is a public for such a release to happen. When you consider the shall we say low quality product that is released on cd today, it's hard to comprehend.

I am told there is a possibility that the four albums that formed her 2nd stint at Motown may well see the light of day in expanded form. There are certainly enough outtakes, remixes, alternate vocals and B sides to make this a worthwhile project.
Weird though this may sound the coronavirus crisis may just help to get more of these expanded albums out on the streets. There are a few surprises in the works.

Anything if not everything would be most welcome just now. I think we could all do with a slither of something positive. I think it best not to hold ones breath though as that could prove very dangerous indeed lol........here’s hoping.

I'd love to think there were some unreleased tracks from The Force Behind The Power project.

Take Me Higher was very popular at Dance on release - I wonder if it might be next?

It would be interesting to see what Kupper could do with Swept Away.

Many people appear to enjoy these remixes. You are of course perfectly entitled to your opinion, and you can choose not to listen to them, but why deprive people who do appreciate them? I may as well warn you that more are on the way

There are 2 or 3 outtakes from the fbtp sessions Florence, not to mention a few alternate versions.

I am one of those people who enjoy the remixes. We have a saying here in America- that one should quit while they are ahead. It’s been a great run of hits. I think a big part of the success is due to song name recognition. Those were well known [[classic) songs to the general public. So remixing them was cool. Not sure if the success would be the same for a lesser known song- a song that fans would know, but not the general public. For instance I’m sure a remix of “once in the morning” would be great, but it doesn’t have the same familiarity as a song called Love Hangover 2020.

If there is to be another i would like to see "Carry On" remixed. It seems an apt song in these strange times.

Diana Ross’ ‘Love Hangover’ is #1 on Billboard nearly 45 years after first topping charts

    By KARU F. DANIELS
    NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Diana Ross will be celebrating her birthday in grand style.

On Thursday, the legendary diva will turn 76.

The remix of her disco classic “Love Hangover” is at the top of Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart this week.

The song, recorded in 1975, catapulted to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Soul Singles and Hot Dance Club Play charts simultaneously in May 1976.

Written by Marilyn McLeod and Pam Sawyer, the Hal Davis-produced platter became the Motown Records queen’s fourth single to reach number one.

“It was a spontaneous thing that we captured on record and if I had to go back in and do it again, I couldn’t have," Ross said of recording “Love Hangover" [[according to J. Randy Taraborrelli’s 2007 biography “Diana.”) "The music was me and I was the music. Things came out of my mouth that I didn’t even expect.”

The song got its groove back at the hands of longtime Ross classic remix-master, Eric Kupper, revamping it for newer audiences.

“Love Hangover 2020” is the eighth number one club hit for the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer

#1 Billboard Dance Charts Diana Ross"Love Hangover" 2020
This mix sounds fresh even after multiple plays.

"These Things" [[will keep me loving you) is in need of a similiar remix by Eric Kupper. Alot of people have not heard the song. One of Diana Ross' most passionate vocal performances!

Still showing Diana as having moved from #2 to #1 so either no new chart has been produced which would not be at all surprising or the site hasn't been updated which it usually does Thursday night/ Friday morning.
