Instant Funk Lead Singer James Carmichael Dies

Rest in power. Note: This is NOT the same James Carmichael who co-produced the lion's share of The Commodores' best work, but the front man of the Salsoul funk outfit that gave us such grooves as "I Got My Mind Made Up" and "Slap, Slap, Lickedy Lap."

Oh "I Got My Mind Made Up" was my jam my freshman year in college. They were a great band and no doubt because of James. Rest in peace man and thanks. Thanks Sansradio.

Loved "Got My Mind Made Up," except I got tired of that girl saying "Say whaaat?" over and over!

Thanks for letting us know, Sansradio.
