Thread: David Ruffin

  1. David Ruffin

An excellent round-up of David Ruffin’s finest work, solo and with the Temptations, by former Record Collector editor, Ian McCann...

I always wished David could have done more duets with artists like Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, maybe even Freda Payne.

That was a nice listing but I would have sacrificed Rode By The Place or another track to
include Statue Of A Fool. It's a shame how his last days played out; he had so much soul...

  4. #4
Great round up!!! I'd keep "Rode By The Place" and swap "A Day In The Life" for "Statue"...

  5. #5
I would’ve included “Message from Maria” in place of “Day in the life...”. One listen to that, you’ll be saying Joe Who?!

I can't believe I Saw You When You Met Her wasn't included in the list of his 20 best songs. It's a masterpiece. Has Ian not heard that track?
