Songbook of the 1970's : Diana Ross SingsThe Classic Songs

I think Diana Ross could remake the hit made by Bette Midler-
" Do you wanna dance with me?"
This song requires a smooth and sensual voice-
components which still sustain Diana Ross. As an encore song, it would be amazing and her band would make it jazzy and breezey- especially her lovely saxophone musician!

Any other 1970's songs to be remade by the magic touch of Ms.Ross?

I adore those early Bette Midler albums. Not so sure about Ross doing DYWD though.
    Best left to Bette imo....

IIRC, Diana included this very song in her live shows circa '73.

the Bette Midler version is a lot slower than the original by Bobby Freeman. Bette's is at a tempo similar to the Mama's and Papa's 1966 version from their debut LP [[with the famous cover shot of them seated in a bathtub)
Diana covering the song in its original teen oriented bouncy upbeat tempo is far more imaginable to me than a slow dramatic reading
