what's amazing is the chart runs

i'm in 1966 now so only have that data ready

WDOLG and CSAM are, so far, the longest chart runs. Both were on the charts for 14 weeks.

next up is Baby and, wait for it, Let Me Go The Right Way!! lolol now obviously where there were on the charts was vastly different. But LMGTRW bobbled around the lower 90s and upper 100s for weeks. both were on the charts for 13 weeks.

Also what's interesting is that, once the song peaks, it drops like a rock!

Stop! peaked at #1 for 2 weeks. the sat at #2 for 2 weeks and 5 for 1 week. then 10 , 30 and off.

Back peaked at #1 for 1 week, then slide to 5, 11, 15 and gone.

None of the songs seem to linger on the charts after peaking.

You are a geek with seemingly way too much time on your hands. And for that i am eternally grateful!!

OMG I remember so many of these ads...I have quite a few in the attic, particularly those after mid-1966...I see you have the Spotlights for Hangin' On and The Happening, did you happen to see the one for Love Is Here and the flip and they commented it was a possible double-sided hit...I can't recall the specific details...

I suppose Rogers and Hart was the biggest seller of the tribute/specialty LPs? I seemed to be available everywhere well into the early 70's....while CW&P, Liverpool and Sam Cooke were never available in my local shops, and were somewhat hard to find. I even tried out of town shops in NJ/PA when I traveled.

This is wonderful and thanks for your efforts; it's so interesting to see how these releases were publicized in their contemporary times.

I've completed the chart listings through 1967. Interestingly there was 0 mention of Flo's departure or any of the hubbub in Vegas. Now i could have missed a small article or something but no big mention. the first thing i saw was the Tarzan clip, where they were referred to as the Supremes. then the first DRATS mention was the blurb on Reflections.

Will keep my eyes open in Feb 68 to see if they mention Flo signing with ABC.

The album chart details are quite interesting. We all probably new WDOLG was a mega seller. and damn - was it ever!!! a bit of a slow start - took 6 weeks to enter the album top 40. then 5 weeks to reach album top 10. it spent 19 weeks in the top 10!!! and was on the charts for 89 weeks!! it would climb a bit, then slide back down. then up 10 or more points, then back down. a loooooooooong slow burn on this one

then next longest was Copa!! was surprised a bit about that. Much longer than More Hits [[which was on charts for 37 weeks). Copa was on for 54

    as for specialty albums,

    CWP - 8 weeks
    Liverpool - 21 weeks
    Sam Cooke - 19 weeks
    R&H - 19 weeks

Liverpool peaked at 21 and also charted longer in the higher positions then tumbled off the charts.

R&H climbed fast to 20 then slide down and stayed a while in the 40s.

Thanks sup_fan you saved me a trip to the attic. In the early days I had scrapbooks so I know exactly where I would've found it had I dared to venture up there. Memorabilia after the 60s is loosely organized in several boxes. Ugh! What am I going to do with all that sh*t - I mean stuff. For my recent birthday [[70) I was given even more memorabilia. The only thing on my wish lists is Expanded Editions for Reflections and Love Child.

When I saw the ad in Billboard for Love Is Here I immediately went to my local Mom & Pop record store to buy it. He had There's No Stopping Us Now as the A-Side. I told him what I read in Billboard and he changed his label.

A Supremes bread bag - nice!

I don't even want to lug the "stuff" down from the attic, much less ship it! Shame you don't live here in the Northeast.

haha - i'll road trip up

most of my stuff is general things off ebay. the big colorful concert programs from the 60s. pics. nothing extremely rare other than the bread bag.

mostly i've collected and traded audio bootlegs of the group. quite a few from the 70s.
