"Love Child" album cover Diana Ross and The Supremes

I always thought that the "Love Child" album
cover was the side fire escape of
a housing tenament building. Now, looking closely
at the photo, it appears to be the side alley
ground level side entrance, between two
tenament buildings. I say this because there
appears in the rear left foreground area- a chain
link fence.I don't see. any of them standing near a fire escape. Any thoughts?

I like the new Latin Rhtymn that Diana Ross has added to the song, when singing it live.

The Diana Ross Band rocks this song!

The “Latin Rhythm” seems to be a bit of an homage to Sweet Sensation’s 1990 cover:

there's been some chat [[either here or on FB) about where exactly the shots were taken. to my knowledge we've never seen any additional pics from the session. just the front and rear cover images

i believe some were saying it wasn't really in the housing projects but simply the back/side of a studio building. guess it looked "alley" enough to serve the purpose

Mary Wilson recorded a version almost exactly like sweet sensations back in the 90s for her walk the line album but it was dropped for you keep me hanging on.

it floats around on bootlegs. I love Mary’s version

Hello Marv! Mary tore it up at Constitution Hall in Washington DC. I saw her in Tahoe many years ago making the song hers. There happened to be a bunch of patrons from Detroit in the audience and the house went wild.

Now as far as the album cover I don't have enough info to draw a conclusion. There has been only two pics seen from the shoot. I definitely do not think it was in Detroit.

I remember when Mary performed "Love Child" at the Fox in Detroit in the early 90s. People were up and dancing in the aisle. That doesn't happen much at the Fox! LOL!
