Diana Ross "It's My Turn" Why no album to promote it?

"It's My Turn" Diana Ross song hit movie theme should have been:
    Grammy Award Winner
    Oscar Award Winner

Where was the marketing team for this great song?

Also, an album including this great song would have propelled this song to #1.

You can buy the original album that included this song on Ebay for $2.47:

    What label issued the soundtrack?

My memory is it included It’s My Turn and a lot of instrumental filler

There is an expanded edition on CD. It is now out of print and can be quite expensive.

The reality is the song was recorded and released at the end of Diana’s contract, just months after the release of the diana album, which was still high on the LP charts. It’s My Turn probably would have been included on the next project If Diana had remained with Motown...

It was given exposure on 3 LPS....we will discount the soundtrack....after all, its not a DR LP....it was on the wonderful To Love Again compilation. Most likely the strongest point to sell that LP....and, it was time for another hits LP... it was featured on the 2 LP ALL THE GREATEST HITS...why they included 4 from DIANA and threw everything from 1 LP onto 1 side is beyond me....they could have just gone with Coming Out and Upside Down...I would have included Surrender, One Love in My Lifetime and something from Baby-it's Me. And, at least this hits medley offering is listenable. I hated the previous Minnie Mouse disco medley

I think the release of IT'S MY TURN sort of threw things out of whack. As it was a movie theme, Motown had to release it to coincide with the film. It just so happens that it came right when Diana was so hot with the Chic album. One never knows, but if there had been no IT'S MY TURN, Motown might have released another single from the Chic album.

And of course, Diana's Motown contract coming to an end probably complicated matters further. As it is, the TO LOVE AGAIN album is a great collection. But I remember being very disappointed that it only had three new songs on it. The news had not broken yet that Diana was leaving the company and I felt really shortchanged.

If "Its My Turn" had not been released I think they could have completely gone with another track from Chic album...."Now that Your'e Gone" would have been the perfect choice...still a bit funky but a bit slower paced than the last two singles...PERFECT.
