    Levi's Last Peformance?

    I came across this recently

I'm guessing that this has to be one of Levi's last public performances

    I've watched it several times

It's equal measures heartbreaking, haunting, inspiring and beautiful

That's from The Four Tops 50th Anniversary special in 2004. Mary Wilson and Paul Rodgers also performed on the show.

Aretha and Levi were two of my absolute favorites.

This was his last public performance in 2004. Later that year he had the stroke and heart attack. A year later we lost Renaldo "Obie" Benson on July 1, 2005 the same day that Luther Vandross passed.

That performance was just as you described. Somehow Levi sounded better than many of today's "singers." Thank you for sharing. I hope I can find the entire special since I missed it.

That grew up in the same neighborhood and known each other since they were teenagers. Detroit was amazing.

You might be thinking of the Motown on Showtime special on The Tempts and Tops. Aretha and the Tops were gathered around a piano singing ROCK-A-BYE YOUR BABY, ISN'T SHE LOVELY, and I WANT TO BE WITH YOU.

I just want to confirm that this is the correct dvd. There's only one left. From The Heart: The Four Tops - 50th Anniversary Concert, 2006

    Thanks!
