    This lady is receiving a lot of backlash online from the African American community. I know that online post are not “real” life, but I’m curious as to how that will affect box office numbers.

    It's not going to affect anything. People are silly! They just don't like the fact that she,as a British actress won the role of Harriet Tubman. Silly!

    It's actually deeper than that. Erivo has made disparaging remarks about African-Americans to the press and on social media. It's a contentious situation to say the least.

    With that said, I'm excited to see her take on the life of Tubman, one of my heroes since childhood. It would be wonderful, IMO, for her to achieve her EGOT with this. By all accounts, her performance is the saving grace of a flawed film.
