"Nightflight" Tue Mar 8, 9P-12M ET: The SUPREMES...LIVE...LIVE...LIVE...on TV!

    Attachment 2646

Hey there, you lovely young things! Tonight, I thought I would bring to you all Motown and ALL Supremes...3 hours of their "live" performances from television shows during the '60's and '70's. It gives me the chance to play some of those terrific songs that were never released on vinyl or CD. Join me for three hours of many of the Supreme Ladies...performances from the [[boob) Tube...tonight...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and 91.3 FM Orleans and streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org

    Thanks!

    John

Great photos, John. Looking forward to Live! Live! Live! The girls did some great songs that weren't captured in studio only Live! Live! Live! Hey, I know it's a long shot but when the girls were on Hulabaloo and sang "Back In My Arms Again" they came back later in the show and sang "You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You". Any chance you have that version? Here's a photo of them performing it, Diana's really into it! See you on the wireless, good buddy!

True, but this may be a problem with his internet provider and/or his modem.

"Come See About Me" on Ed Sullivan. What a wonderful Supremes memory. Yes, the original clip was b&w, but I have seen the colorized version. They did a pretty good job.

Thanks John. I had heard many different live versions of "You're Nobody. . ." that by the time I heard the vaulted studio version, I didn't like it as much. This is a great version. I haven't heard it in ages. Thanks again.

Shango was a rock quartet in the late 1960s, led by Tommy Reynolds, later of Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, which included actor Stuart Margolin.
Shango's best-known recording was a 1969 song, a modest novelty hit called "Day After Day [[It's Slippin' Away)" from their self-titled album Shango. Produced by Jerry Riopelle and co-written by Margolin, Riopelle and Reynolds, it mocked contemporary doomsday predictions that California was destined to be destroyed [[presumably very soon) by an earthquake. It was sung in Calypso style:
Day after dayMore people come to L.A.Shh! Don't you tell them thatThe whole place slippin' awayIt was later adapted into a car ad:
Day after dayMore people drive Chevrolet...
