    Average White Band saxophonist 'Molly' Duncan dies

    A founding member of the Scottish funk and R&B act Average White Band has died after being diagnosed with cancer.

    Malcolm 'Molly' Duncan, who was born in Montrose, played saxophone in the group, including on their US chart-topper Pick Up The Pieces.

    They were a favorite of mine in the 70s. I'm sorry to see him go. Rest in peace Malcolm and thanks man.

    Very sad news. I had the great good fortune to see them at a club date in the mid-to-late '90s; the show was fire. Rest in power and funk.
