A very happy birthday to Willie Tyler

Today just happens to be Willie Tyler's 79th birthday. I would imagine that all of the major Motown artists are known to him through his performances at their concert performances in the Golden Age of Motown.

Willie had one album released on Motown, HELLO DUMMY, Tamla 265 which came out in November of 1965.

Here is an interesting recap of the history of Willie Tyler and Lester.

In summary, happy birthday Willie. Your legacy lives on and on.

Happy Birthday Willie! Thanks for all the laughs I had watching you and "Lester" growing up!

In 1962 I was with The Sunliners playing the Webwood Inn in Detroit. For a while, every Friday night a very young Willie Tyler would show with his dummy, Lester to do a show. He was such a nice guy and I was thrilled to see his success over the years.
