Did not expect to see "You Are Everything" there Florence. One of my fave Diana vocals.

Totally agree Ollie9, this really is a standout track on the album. Marvin's vocal is equally strong too. "Now, Now Baby" was sung with such feeling!

It is still played quite regularly on radio 2 so it is not that surprising to see it in the list.

Marvin is probably relatively more popular in the Digital age than previously in the UK.

The British Phonographic Industry was only formed in 1973 and in 1974 You Are Everything was the first Motown record to receive an official award in the UK - a Silver Disc for sales in excess of 250k.

Ken Bruce is a particular fan of Diana. He regularly plays the likes of All of my life and I Thought it Took a Little Time on his Love Songs spot. I have also heard Missing You, The Boss and Getting Ready For Love as well as the usual big UK hits.

Shireblogger@havenforum.co.uk has produced an up-to-date list of the Top Selling 150 Motown records in the UK incorporating this latest digital information.

He has access to all sorts of sales information and data and while he would never claim the figures are 100% accurate the apples will not have fallen very far from the tree.

It's interesting how some tracks are doing far better now.

    These are the Supremes/Diana entries.

Position on chart/ total sales to date/title / artist

    010 804k Baby Love Supremes

Some observations in relation to the physical sales.

The post-Diana Ross Supremes had 5 top 10 singles in the UK from their first 6 singles the exception being Everybody's Got The Right To Love which didn't chart at all.

Stoned Love and Nathan Jones sold more than any pre-1970 single except Baby Love, Where Did Our Love Go and Reflections.

Although it didn't sell as well on release as the above five singles You Can't Hurry Love is the big winner in the digital age - it has sold 312k since 2004 and is currently shifting 7k a month.

If it continues to sell at this rate then it should become the first Supremes' single to be certified Gold in the second half of next year.

Baby Love overall has sold over 800k but the majority of these sales were before Official Certification began in 1973 and so it never received any.

It's easily the second biggest seller in the Digital age well ahead of everything else but also well behind YCHL but it will probably eventually go Gold for sales of 400k post 1994.

The group's supposedly two biggest selling singles in the US - Someday We'll Be Together and Love Child were only moderate hits in the UK reaching the mid-teens.

Both were outsold at release by In And Out Of Love!!

Two of Diana Ross' Top 5 UK selling singles Chain Reaction and Why Do Fools Fall In Love aren't in the list because they were outside her Motown days.
    in the Top 50.

Chain Reaction would be in the Top 10 and Fools in the Top 50.

Other non-Motown Diana hits which would make the list:

When You Tell Me That You Love Me - top 60.
Work That Body - top 100
If We Hold On Together - top 150.

Although it would barely be in her top 10 phsical selling singles, now powering ahead is I'm Coming Out which is shifting around 6.5k a month and should eventually go Gold.

When you look at the list you can see how endearingly popular Diana Ross has always been in the UK.
