The supremes [[??) are set to perform on qe2 ship

Are Sherrie, Susaye and Joyce now billing themselves as the Supremes? This article brags that the actual Supremes will be performing on the QE2. Actually, the last grouping of Supremes that recorded for Motown was Sherrie, Susaye and Joyce on the Partners album, which may have well been meant to be a Supremes album until the plug was pulled.

But the article also says that three of the original band members are going to be returning to the QE2, having been regular performers aboard the historic cruise-liner over the last 50 years. I don't recall the original group of fifty years ago performing on the QE two or touring the cruise circuit. Did they?

In any case, it is nice to see Sherrie, Susaye and Joyce doing this gig. Two of them are legitimate Supremes and it would be nice if they could legally use the name and pick up from where they left off forty-two years ago. Also, their current billing name is too long and awkward.

The Supremes [[yes, the actual Supremes) are coming to Dubai for a night of pure nostalgia and old-school Motown.

The group that launched Diana Ross’ illustrious career are coming to the emirate for a two-night stint aboard the famed cruise ship-turned hotel the QE2 in September. Taking place on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 September, three of the original band members are going to be returning to the QE2, having been regular performers aboard the historic cruise-liner over the last 50 years.

With tickets starting from Dhs180, you can hear Scherrie Payne, Susaye Greene and Joyce Vincent performing hits from throughout their time in The Supremes including Stop! In the Name of Love, Baby Love, You Keep me Hangin’ On, and so many more.

As one of the most iconic acts in music history, don’t miss this chance to see The Supremes aboard the QE2, which is also bringing Dubai a 1960s throwback act later this month, performing hits from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more.

the group didn't launch Diana Ross's career; Diana Ross's brilliant vocals on records released as The Supremes created a life raft for all those who clung to the SUPREMES name like a life raft after Diane [[lol) launched her golden decades spanning , still in progress, solo career

Yes, clung like a life raft indeed. I have nothing against the ladies but they are glomming onto a legacy of which they had no part in building whatsoever. Maybe Mary can drum up more business by advertising herself as Dawn and sing 'Tie A Yellow Ribbon'?
