    Happily, no Motown recordings were in the warehouse. All of those are in another facility in New Jersey. However, most of if not all of the original Chess masters were believed to have been destroyed.

    On June 25, 2019, The New York Times Magazine listed Florence Ballard among hundreds of artists whose material was reportedly destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire.

    That’s really sad! A good chunk of the Four Tops post-Motown catolouge [[and some pre-Motown recordings) were also involved in this tragedy!
