They need to give this a special edition DVD release like Motown 25. We also need TEMPTS & TOPS, Motown 30 and 40. And plenty of other releases.

    It was a great show.

especially Melvin adding a bass line on Something About You.

Allie Ollie & Richard Street WOW

as a minor negative I didn't like the yellow pants
but that was so minor: the voices were major

It really did. It turned Patti LaBelle into a bona fide superstar like Motown 25 did for Michael Jackson. Later that summer, NBC gave Patti or own show.

Patti is amazing live, so much energy and can really sing. At a book signing, I saw her pull a lady out of the line to see if she would like her Patti LaBelle Jean jacket autographed. Patti said “ I know you paid a lot of money for this jacket so let’s make it worth something”.

In the finale, it is easily noticeable sending out the extra mic and how they dealt with the sound and the mic being passed around. And it was very well done on the spur of the moment.
