2018 CD Michael Jackson - Farewell My Summer Love

Might be of interest to some in that Universal B.V. released this CD last year as part of their Music On CD series. It has catalogue number MOCCD13571 and has a Motown label on the CD. Amongst the many other CDs in this range, I could only really find Rare Earth's "Get Ready" album [[yet again) released a while back. The MJ CD kinda passed me by until now.

I remember when that album came out that the first pressings were called "Farewell My Summer Love - 1984" and I always wondered why they changed it for later pressings.

I remember this song. I also remember being in the record store and seeing it and being confused by it. Wasn't this canned material that was released by Motown to compete with Michael's then current album "Thriller"?

They were sessions from 1973 that were remixed to sound more current... the original recordings appeared on the "hello world" box set. Farewell my summer love was a No.7 hit over here in the UK
