    Good Ratings for Motown 60

Overnight ratings for last night are in and Motown 60 won it's time slot beating out American Idol. Usually this means more such shows will be planned.

So it's decent exposure after all, even though most likely there will be little or no music sales-bump.

Likely for some of them, $$$$$

Diana got Mary a few dollars of royalties

We should be glad Motown remains such an across the board success

    Rejoice!

I think there is a Motown gospel special of some kind coming as well as the documentary

It’s not a nice position to be in when you resent everything and everyone that’s successful

This might not have anything to do with the ratings, however, the Microsoft Theatre where the event was held earlier this year has a seating capacity of 7,100. From what I could see the place was completely sold out. It is my belief that there were more people there than there were at the last presidential inaugration in Washington, DC which was so controversial. What do others think?

I totally agree. If it does well in the ratings, I think it has to translate into greater appreciation for the music among some new listeners.

Good ratings mean nothing. The show was garbage pure and simple. What an embarrassing form of trash. They should have done NOTHING instead of that.

Some people watched out of curiousity. What else was on at that time? Some were expecting another "Motown 25". The show last night was lame!
