    Dennis Coffey - New Interview

    Just posted this interview with Dennis Coffey, who has a new live album out March 29. As you know from his posts here, he has amazing recall and tremendous insight. We discussed a range of topics, including "Scorpio," Rodriguez [[he produced the Cold Fact album) and analog vs. digital.

    His description of a Norman Whitfield session, with 11 musicians playing at once while Whitfield directs traffic, gives a good indication of why this music is on another level. Here's the interview:

    Wow, this interview reinforces for me how insanely talented all the Funk Brothers were. It is also great how Dennis remembers the sessions for all those songs.
